Qualifications

Multi-faceted Approach

Everybody is uniquely imbibed with diverse genes and experiences.

Hence, each individual's struggles with mental health difficulties, methods of coping and mental wellbeing will take a uniquely different shape. It is with this in mind that we approach everyone who seeks our services, whether Online or In-Person.

We begin by evaluating and assessing every client in-order to make a formal diagnosis after-which, if the client should prefer, we create an individualized care plan comprising a combination of counselling, psychological therapy, psycho-education and self-development exercises.

Depending on the client's history and goals, we offer a combination of therapies, including:

  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

  • Play & Art Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Humanistic Psychology

  • Trauma-Focused Therapy

  • Positive Psychotherapy

  • Person-Centered Therapy

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Spiritual Counselling

“It [therapy] opened my eyes to the various things that hinders oneself, things we believe are minute and which we tend to ignore. I am more confident and appreciate myself for who I am.”

Your approach was just right. It made me warm up to you and share all my concerns without holding back. Your patience and attentive ear was truly amazing.”

  • Childhood Support

Children often find it hard to communicate their feelings and problems openly, so my child-centered approach involves play and art therapy, mindfulness for children and behaviour therapy.

I often work with children with:

    • Communication Disorders

    • Maltreatment, Abuse & Neglect

    • Specific Learning Disabilities

    • Behavioural Issues

    • Developmental Issues

  • Personal Support

There are certain things we can experience on an individual level, which ripple into multiple aspects of life. My personal support involves addressing the following:

    • Self-Esteem & Awareness

    • Trauma & Abuse

    • Anxiety & Anxiety-related Disorders

    • Mood & Depressive Disorders

    • Personality Disorders

    • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD, c-PTSD)

    • Grief & Bereavement

    • Existential Crisis

    • Loneliness & Isolation

  • Adolescent Support

The pubertal phase of life is filled with changes. As such, this is a crucial time for seeking support and understanding.

For these age groups, I provide support for:

    • Identity-related Crisis

    • Eating Disorders

    • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

    • Self-harm & Suicidal Thoughts

    • Disruptive Behaviour Disorders

  • Women Support

Women face unique difficulties throughout their lifespan, and often require specialised support. The main areas I work in include:

    • Domestic Abuse & Violence

    • Menstruation & Fertility Problems

    • Gender-Based Discrimination

    • Pre- & Post-Natal Issues

    • Pregnancy Loss

    • Gender Dissapointment

  • Relationship Mediation

Relational ups-and-downs can take a toll on mental wellbeing, be it with friends, family, spouses, children or even (more spiritually) with God. For such issues, I offer mediation focusing on:

    • Attachments

    • Emotional Commitment & Intimacy

    • Spiritual Awareness & Strengthening

    • Communication

    • Conflict Resolution

    • Practical Problem-solving

  • Typically, the evaluation takes approximately 1.5-2 hours, and includes listening to your concerns, collecting a clinical history, assessing your need for therapy or other forms of support, and a formal diagnosis according to the APA and BPS professional practice standards.

If 1 session is not enough to gather this information, it can break it up over the course of 2-3 smaller sessions; but the evaluation as a whole is charged only once. Based on this evaluation, a treatment plan is created specific to your needs.

  • The communications between a client and a psychologist is private and held in strictest confidence. To this end, you will have to sign a client-therapist agreement before beginning counselling & therapy sessions.

  • The main purpose of this service is to provide a safe and supportive environment for you to explore yourself and your concerns.

This practice is multi-faceted and involves a combination of faith-based, relational, self-developmental and neurological therapeutic approaches.

So, depending on the diagnosis, we offer a combination of different counselling and psycho-therapeutic talking therapies (detailed above), self-development exercises and psychological education about your symptoms and experiences.

  • Personal healing is what we all endeavour to achieve in life, and if this is something you believe in then we agree with you fully.

However, there are times when we need expert help and advice to help us heal and recover, such as when we experience physical and mental health problems. You are encouraged to seek out your GP or family doctor for your physical health problems, as much as seeking out a counsellor or psychologist for your mental health difficulties.

It is our strong recommendation that you do reach out - don't suffer in silence because your problem won't just magically disappear.

  • Yes, written reports are provided for your knowledge, or for schools/universities and employers who need to be made aware of certain circumstances or mental health difficulties.

  • That's perfectly fine. I offer 1-1 online sessions to clients from across the globe. As per where you live, we can come try to find a suitable time for the sessions.

  • Our charges vary depending on the age of the client, nature and intensity of therapy needed. You can get a personalised quote using the contact form below.

  • There could be many reasons that can cause you to feel hesitant; such as fear of family / community stigma, feeling vulnerable and not wanting to expose yourself, a lack of understanding of yourself and what you are experiencing, or a general lack of time to commit to therapy.

Looking after yourself is paramount to looking after others and leading a happy and healthy life.

There is much research that has reported the benefits of psychotherapy, including it leading to better relationships, reducing feelings of distress and mental health problems, increasing better coping skills, and improving mental wellbeing overall.
